You won't believe the smartphone this company created- The Vivo Nex S (extremely small bezels) - Gearbest

The Vivo Nex S is the future

Vivo was one of the first companies to adopt the trend of bezel-less smartphones, even before Xiaomi did it with the Mi Mix. That being said it also produces a lot of concept phones which, although most are not for sale, are really good. It was also the first company to create a device with a fingerprint scanner embedded to the front screen and they used this technology on the new Vivo Nex S.

The Vivo Nex S is a beautiful smartphone. It has even smaller bezels than the Galaxy S9, coming in with a screen to the body of 86% (3% above the S9’s).  By the way, do you think the S9 is still a good smartphone? My opinion is still the same as 2 months ago: https://needthetech.blogspot.com/2018/05/review-of-Samsung-galaxy-s9-after-2.html
The device has an aluminium frame and is covered in Gorilla 5 glass which is pretty durable. The nost fragile point of the device is probably the pop-up front camera and it’s not fragile at all! Just go Watch JerryRigsEverything durability test on youtube!
Moving on to the screen the smartphone as 6.6-inch FullHD+ Super AMOLED display (made by Samsung, the company that makes the best displays on the market) with a fingerprint sensor under it centred on the bottom of the device. It actually works really well.
Overall the screen could be better, with better contrast, brightness and sharpness as it only comes in at 388PPI, much less than most flagships.
The device is equipped with the Snapdragon 845 and the Adreno 630 GPU amongst 8GB of RAM which means it can handle everything you throw at it. It scored an impressive 284.000 points on ANTUTU.
Talking about the Cameras, on the back the two lenses the camera system is mediocre. There’s a 12MPx f/1.8 and a 5MPx f/2.4 which take average photographs. There is a lot of detail in them but they look pretty plain and the colours look faded. Just look at the images:

On the other hand, the pop-up 8MPx f/2.0 front camera is… even worse. The pictures below show how bad it is.

It has a 4000mAh battery cell which is good and needs for such a big screen.

I need to mention again that this is a concept phone, the objective of such a device was so that this small-ish company could say “hey, we are here and look at what we can accomplish!”. That being said I didn’t expect the cameras to be that good but I did have higher expectations for the front one because it is a fundamental piece of how they achieved such bezel-less device. What I also wanted was wireless charging and any kind of IP certification
I do love the idea though…
