The best smartphone of 2017- Review of the Huawei Mate 10 - GEARBEST.COM
Back to business with the best smartphone of 2017

It has been a while since I posted something on my blog, and
I thought, what better way to start 2018 than by reviewing my favourite smartphone of the past year. Before
anything else, feel free to follow me on Facebook and Twitter
to hear about my articles as soon as they go live.
I know I’m probably
the last person doing this but whatever.
Along the hundreds of devices released, the Huawei Mate 10 has to be my favourite. The Mate 10 Pro was also presented
at the same event but I prefer the fingerprint scanner on the front and the
Quad HD display of the 10 over the FullHD+ OLED panel of the Pro. To me, the Huawei P10
was an overpriced smartphone but Honor, a
subbrand of Huawei, released the Honor 9, which was basically a budget P10. But
the Mate 10 is quite an upgrade, the camera quality is, for me, the most
significant factor when choosing a smartphone. Let me explain to you why I love the Mate 10.
But before that, I
have to mention my favourite online shop,
Gearbest. This is a giant electronics
seller that provides exceptional gadgets
at exceptionally low prices. Check it out at https://www.gearbest.com/?lkid=12680256

PERFORMANCE
The Kirin 970 Neural Processing Unit is the first processor
with AI computing capabilities. It’s basically an extremely powerful AI-based
chipset. The smartphone as an octa-core CPU with 4x2.4GHz cores and other 4x1.8GHz
cores as well as the Mali G72 MP12 GPU. The P10 wasn’t powerful enough for the
price but this chipset compares to the Snapdragon 835 as it scores 175.000
points on ANTUTU. As I have said it’s an
extremely powerful device and the 4GB of RAM allow for fluid and extreme
multitasking.
CAMERA

Photo taken with the Mate 10 |
I have compared it a lot to the P10 and
I’m going to do it again, the dual camera on the back only had an aperture of f/2.0 but now, both the 20MP monochromatic sensor and the 12MP RGB one have
an insane aperture of only f/1.6. It’s
not my favourite dual camera set-up, I prefer the one on the LG
G6, but I can sacrifice a wide-angle lens for better photography. Expect amazing
shots taken with this smartphone (even in extremely low-light), which scored 97
points on the DxO Mark, beating the iPhone
X and right below the number one spot with 98 points, the Google
Pixel 2 (just click over the names of the devices for their full reviews).
There’s 4K video recording as well as EIS and OIS for video stabilization. The
front 8MP shooter is not the best in my opinion, but it’s great as well.
The most amazing feature on the camera app is the AI.The
smartphone detects up to 13 different objects and changes the characteristics
of the photo for a better shot. It’s amazing really.
BATTERY
This smartphone has a 4000mAh battery, which is extremely
uncommon in flagships. Although the cell is giant, fast-charging allows for
0-100% battery in no-time. My only complaint is the lack of wireless charging, but
it’s a minor detail in my opinion.
