The best Xiaomi's Photography Smartphone ever made: Review of the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 - GEARBEST.COM
Simply, the best
Xiaomi needs no introduction. The Chinese company founded by Lei Jun is known for selling many different items, everything from smartphones, TVs, water purifiers. About 2 months ago I received the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 (one of the company's top of the line devices) in the mail and I have been loving it. Feel free to follow me on Facebook and Twitter to hear about me and know when my articles go live as soon as possible. Here’s my review of the Xiaomi Mi Note 3, the best budget smartphone I have ever bought:
Before that, here’s a shameless plug for my favourite online shop!
DESIGN
Now, here is a tricky question. Is the device beautiful? Yes, it is but you might not ever show be showing it around because it will probably have a case on. It is an incredible looking device much like the Mi 6 but bigger. On the back, there’s a dual camera system (more on that further in the article) and the golden rims really contribute to its beauty. The back is made of glass and it’s really slippery, prone to scratching and gets smudged easily, that’s why I always recommend a case that you can buy at GEARBEST. There’s no headphone jack but the adaptor for the USB-Type C entrance is in the box. On the front, there’s the shooter that can be used for Face ID and an incredibly fast and accurate fingerprint reader. The device is comfortable to handle, light and thin coming in at 7.6mm and 163g.

DISPLAY
When it comes to display this guy is rocking a 5.5 inches LCD IPS display. It can get extremely bright and I only get to use at half brightness, because I don’t need more than that, but I have had comments that my phone is always way too dark (*cough* girlfriend *cough*). It’s a FullHD panel, so 1920x1080 and it’s sharp coming in at 401 PPI but I feel like colour reproduction could be a lot better, the display is not it’s best selling point. For the ones that love the bezel-less display trend, I am sorry… The device as a 73% screen to body ratio and it’s 16:9.
PERFORMANCE
Talking about numbers… This guy was actually the first device to get the Snapdragon 660, a middle range processor which is just beneath the top-op-the-line mark. For other tech junkies, here goes the list of all specifications: 4x Kryo 260 2.2 GHz - 4x Kryo 260 1.8 GHz Octa-Core CPU; Adreno 512 GPU; 6Gb of RAM; 64Gb of storage (which is not expandable) and an impressive score of 137.210 points on ANTUTU. Overall it’s an amazingly powerful device more than capable enough to handle anything that comes at it. In the last 2 months it stuttered about 2-3 times. Xiaomi’s software is extremely focused on increasing performance so, just like me, you might not be able to get notifications from apps like Twitter or Snapchat (if anyone has a solution for this please let me know). CAMERA
I’ve got one word for it: WOW. Before I bought it, I heard that it was the best camera that Xiaomi had ever created but I didn’t know how good it was until I tested it. It got 90 points on the DxO mark and as good as the daylight shots can be, I think the camera needs a huge software improvement, especially when it comes to low-light and close-up shots. The dual 12Mpx camera system on the back with a normal f/1.8 and a telephoto f/2.6 aperture allow for an amazing bokeh effect and surprisingly sharp max zoom photos. Overall, the camera takes amazing shots and if you’re looking for a smartphone that you can use in photography, look no further.

The front 16Mpx shooter it’s actually quite good. It has a beauty mode and even an Age&Gender mode which misses by like 8 years and a Magic Mirror mode which gives you a score from 1-10 in what I can assume it is beauty, but I’ve only seen numbers between 7 and 10 (I never thought Xiaomi would work on trying to increase self-esteem, well done).
BATTERY
The battery life is amazing. Although it has a glass back it does not have wireless charge, but it does have fast charging, which can charge the 3,500mAh cell in less than an hour. Even with extreme use during the day, from 8 Am to 7 Pm (student life bro), I always get home with more than 30% of juice remaining.
FINAL VERDICT

There’s not much to say, it’s a solid yes for me. 10/10 would buy it again. You can get for 340 euros on Gearbest at
