Although flip phones are practically dead, Samsung refuses to leave this market. The newest evidence of this statement is the Samsung W2018, the flagship flip phone presented in China this Friday.
We’re in 2018 and extremely powerful smartphones are presented each day and Samsung is trying it at another angle... By definition, this flip phone is a smartphone as it is a device that can run apps and the company is trying to revive the trend by releasing a fully specced out flip phone. It’s an Android device with two 4.2” inches FullHD AMOLED touchscreens and a dedicated Bixby button, powered by a 2300mAh battery. The smartphone contains the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835, amongst 4Gb of RAM and expandable 64Gb of ROM.
The back 12MPx camera has an aperture of f/1.5 that, thanks to software, can vary from f/1.5 to f/2.4. The front-facing shooter comes in at 5MPx and might have an aperture of f/1.9, according to gsmarena.com. The most surprising characteristic of this device is its price, with rumours pointing towards a price tag of over 2000$
