iPhone X Review: The iPhone X is NOT what you eXpected
The expensive disappointment
Apple is probably the best well-known company in the world, not just for its products, but also for its prices. It’s no surprise that Apple’s products are over expensive. Seriously, airpods at 140€ (that don’t come with the smartphones), a case with a battery incorporated for 120€ and you even have to buy the fast charger as it doesn’t come in the box. Apple presented the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus (which I have already made a review of, here) amongst the real upgrade: the iPhone X. Is it worth 1300€?
DESIGN
Now, with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus we got an internally upgraded iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but this time, only in glass. The iPhone X has a major redesign: On the front of the display there’s a display and a small notch but kind of annoying. The device is practically all screen as it comes in at an astonishing 83% screen-to-body ratio (a big step up from the previous iPhones) and the small forehead only contains the sensors needed for the FaceID. The most disappointing trait of this device is the lack of the infamous Home Button... Which was a main feature in the iPhone line up. The stainless steel frame actually scratches relatively easy and a smudge fest is expected after using the smartphone because its made of glass (front and back). The back of the phone has a vertical dual camera protruding on the top back corner and there’s only the Apple logo left on the back. The smartphone feels really premium, as usual with Apple’s premium, and it’s a really small device, knowing that it has a 5.8-inch display. The X is also IP67 certified as usual with the iPhones, the difference is that the device is definitely thicker and heavier but it only comes in at 7.7mm and 174 grams. It feels really good on the hand but I’m really disappointed about the lack of a fingerprint reader. The phone comes in two colours: Space grey and silver

PERFORMANCE
The iPhone X is the top beast when it comes to mobile performance. As I said with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, Apple also presented the A11 Bionics chip this year, which is extremely powerful, amongst 3GB of RAM and a Hexacore CPU that overclock at 2.38GHz. The smartphone handles everything you throw at it and it scores an excessive 226.000 points on ANTUTU. Multitasking could be better if the smartphone had 4GB or even 6GB of RAM. If I’m paying 1200€, I want the best...

FINAL VERDICT
Really? 1200€? You should be ashamed Apple, I know that many people won’t agree with me when I say this but I don’t consider the X a device worth buying. I absolutely hate the way Apple leads with its smartphone, they just deliver excessively expensive devices. The notch actually is pretty annoying and the lack of a fingerprint reader feels like a step back. The smartphone has room for improvement in all departments. I consider it to be ugly and I do prefer the iPhone 8 Plus... Anyways, I can’t recommend this device to anyone...
